I just LOVE fall in the smoky mountains! The sights, the smells, the connection with nature I feel, what is not to love? There is a feeling I get when I am in the mountains. Part of it is being in awe, part of it is a pure joy from being around nature and the rest of it is excitement for what you might find when you start to explore. The Smoky Mountains and Cade’s Cove hold memories of adventures with my family as well. Every time I visit it just feels like coming home.
This past fall I was lucky enough to spend a weekend in the Smoky Mountains in Tremont and Cade’s Cove. Rain brought the mountain streams to life in a beautiful way, the water flowing down the mountain creating so many serene locations to view the waterfalls.
Here are some of my favorite images from this trip. Click on any image to enlarge them or to comment on them. I hope you are able to feel the same overwhelming peace and calm while viewing these photos as I experienced taking them.
If being in these mountains interests you, the Great Smoky Mountain Institute at Tremont offers learning opportunities for all ages and interests. My favorite is the photography workshops they do twice a year. If this isn’t your thing, they have several options to just learn about nature as well.
